In the first year meditation is such a thing to grasp.

In the second year meditation is a wonderful thing so different to daily life.

In the third year there is no difference at all between life and mediation.

When he learned how a great fisherman would read the weather, water and so on to gauge when and where to drop his hook, the Taoist sage asked for their guidance. He refused though to fish and stated how he would watch from meditation at the whole process so that when his inner nature had seen all there was to see, he would be a master indeed.

After some days of watching differing conditions and methods, he was bloody hungry.

Chuang Tzu on hearing of this said; “Idiot."

It is one thing to learn, quite another to put into practice.

Spiritual Work

Spirituality is always. Do not waste time with work at work.
 
Work must be acted out as it is surely required in some way or another. This is how to make work a spiritual practice. Remain centered and harmonious even as the action takes place.

Mountain of Thoughts

Chipping stone from a mountain to find what it is made of.

Using the mind to explore the mind.

I can let you continue or I can tell you this. Stop and be in bliss.

What guide you?

Guided by the groin they live in endless lustful seeking.

Those guided by the belly suffer unhealthy short days.

Those who take the heart for guide are some of the best people we know, but may often follow false whims and suffer these.

Guided by the mind are the most dangerous; thinking they are right, letting ego dictate ideas, wants and needs. Our common man.

Only they who have the empty cap, the guide in the crown of the head, can truly be seen as balanced. This spiritual perspective is the one who rules them all. No other guide can lead astray when this master has the helm.

This crown may also be felt in the heart, but not the physical heart.

Action in Stillness

 

In just the same way as a lake acts in settling dirt, nourishing life and floating logs - Without doing a thing; always in balance and remaining calm – manage your life.

 

self realization

It does not need looking for. It is looking.

 

One unit of delusion

Now is it, all else is an idea away.

A minute ago, yesterday, the beginning of time - Tomorrow, next week, your death:

Are all - An IDEA away. No more no less.

And so..

 

Bliss is: not wanting to change a thing.

 

 

impossible to be responsible

You have to be carefree, you have to live and laugh!

How can you be responsible for anything? Let's see...

Who are you to be responsible?

..I? ..Me?

If I is an idea, an aspect, how can we attach responsibility to it? Only with more ideas.

If contrastingly, and more wisely, we take I as reality, the all, how can we attach responsibility to it?

Neither way can we attach responsibility to the self whether we see self as this abstraction or as the whole.

Jump in the puddle, be fascinated by our trillion forms, detach from the actor, live, love and laugh at the show.

Aware

What is the true-self?

Who are you?

Can both be entirely answered with the same word?

"Awareness"

Oooo I look good.

Ego and Body are presented to the world so seem important to present well.

Yet what is the world but an image of the true self?

You think the true self is interested by the show of the ego, a well held lotus position or a nice tan.

Adjusting the nut

D) I'm still trying to adjust to this notion of being infinite awareness but still having a role in life, a job, family..

T) A squirrel is also infinite awareness, but still has to fetch nuts to nibble.

D) Is this not unfair to compare me to a lowly squirrel?

T) How dare you voice opinion over the costume I see fit to wear.

meet a master and know yourself

When you meet normal people they tell you all about themselves.

When you meet the wise they teach you about your self.

For the master, there is nothing but the self.

 

What to do?

Now just simplify your mind and self,
that's all there is so just sit;
Be balance and unknowing flow,
Natures truth is here that's it.

You are your guru - Truth is your core.

Free people require no leader,
and Tao has nothing to lose;
A leader makes fear to interfere with here,
people you know what to choose.

Does the self have goals?

To have destination,
makes the journey too tough;
Be going nowhere,
here is more than enough.

Release

Nothing has to go,
just give everything up;
Bound to nothing,
you have a full cup.

empty mind

Here we sit with not one idea,
no-thought and your life are one kind;
The solid reality that you can touch,
is one with the ungraspable mind.

Death

Like a ripe fruit decays,
to continue new life;
We see a seed is not birth,
and no one ever really dies.

Emptiness

Where there is nothing in mind,
the greatest power is there to see;
Where we find nothing we are truly at one,
one and nothing have equality.

Enjoy the ride

Should you be high or low,
you will always remain in Tao;
There is no need to hold on either way,
as if going up hill and not down.

Just go with it

Our viewpoints are relative see?
Tao has no intention just play;
Extremes in our mind are waves on the lake,
and just our nature sway.

See unity

Though we are part of Tao,
we can act as the worst kind of fake;
Seeing your breath does not help the wind,
let a swamp in your mind be a lake.

Can I explain?

Right there when you are within,
unapparent when you try to hold on;
Do not let another attempt to explain,
their moving lips are admission its gone.

Escape split-mind

It is all that is and is not,
no concept or attempt to be got;
We can only grasp nothing is there,
as a clock can not tick on a tock.

How can I know it?

Know by not knowing, Wu know,
See by not seeing, Wu see;
Only in admitting knowing is dual,
can you be without trying to be.

What is it I seek?

It is outside of knowing,
and is simply right there;
so obvious it is,
too simple to bear.
