Free people are leader of themselves, eh?
Maybe, to me external guru is partner, or inspiration; rather than a leader to follow :D
Great post :)
Yes, another great post.
In my experience there is no individual who is Guru, for as indicated here, Guru is a realizable state of Being/Tao.
The individual may realise the state of being that is 'Guru', but he is still just a man; a self-realized man none the less!
The Guru may appear externally as a self-realised wo/man, but is there only to be by-passed as quickly as possible.
Freedom is an internal state of being; one could say that freedom/liberation is Guru.
I am my own Guru, therefore I no longer look to another, but at one time I looked to the external Master/Guru for guidance :)
Yes...we must abandon hope of 'outside' salvation...knowing there is no outside/inside...just the truth of you reading these words right now.
